The European Union Road Federation (ERF), the Brussels Programme Centre of the International Road Federation (IRF) is proud to announce the launch of the official website to the 16th International Road Federation World Meeting, the key event in the road infrastructure sector carrying the title “Sharing the Road”. The 16th IRF World Road Meeting is organised jointly by all IRF Programme Centres (Brussels / Geneva / Washington) and will be held in Lisbon (Portugal) from 25 to 28 May 2010.
As the road sector faces the challenges of the new century, it becomes vital for all stakeholders to share visions and find solutions to reconcile road infrastructure with modern needs, to respond to the increasing demand for safer and cheaper mobility, to consider new cost effective and environment friendly materials and technologies.
The 16th IRF World Road Meeting by bringing together the world’s foremost experts from the public and private sector, represents the ideal forum to reach a consensus on new strategies for the road sector at the dawn of a new century, strategies which will be able to respond to society’s ever evolving needs in terms of transportation and mobility.
As the first day of the World Road Meetings closes, the IRF launched a dedicated website in order to allow all possible contributors and participants to be informed of the necessary steps to undertake in order to attend the 16th IRF WRM. This online resource, which will soon be available in multiple languages and which will feature additional detailed information as we draw closer to the event, can be accessed at http://www.irf2010.com.
The ERF – IRF BPC is adamant that all stakeholders will profit from the World Road Meeting website functionalities and, in the words of its Chairman Professor Emanuel Maranha Das Neves, start preparing together “a new voyage of discovery from Lisbon - towards shared roads for the future wellbeing and prosperity of our planet”.
