The conference, Achieving Sustainability in the European Automotive Sector: Challenges and Solutions, hosted by AWBriefing and the Centre for Parliamentary Studies, which will take place on Thursday 9th July 2009 at the Renaissance Hotel in Brussels, Belgium.
Through a series of presentations from leading figures in automotive and public policy sectors in Brussels, participants will have the opportunity to tackle some of the more 'hidden' effects of the automotive industry - particularly economic, social and environmental issues, including:

Ivan Hodac – Secretary General (confirmed) ACEA European Automobile Manufacturers' Association Günter Verheugen – Vice President and Commissioner (invited) Enterprise and Industry, European Commission This one-day international conference will provide an opportunity for local practitioners, businesses, consultancies and EU officials to analyse the challenges and consider the solutions needed to facilitate the sustainable development of Europe’s automotive sector. Delegates will consider whether the recent EU initiatives reflect the needs of the private sector, as well as engage in direct contact with key policy makers in Brussels and the automotive industry.
