EU Member States support eSafety Forum recommendations

Enabling technologies for in-vehicle emergency calls (eCall), real-time traffic and travel information (RTTI), and human-machine interaction (HMI) were the priority topics debated at a high-level meeting of the eSafety Forum on 27 September. This high-level meeting was attended by over 80 people, representing 18 EU Member States, one Associated State, industry associations, the eSafety Forum Working Groups and the European Commission. Background:
The eSafety forum, founded in 2003, is a joint industry-public sector initiative that promotes the development, deployment and use of "intelligent" vehicle safety systems, and monitors implementation of eSafety recommendations. It meets twice per year.
