EuroTest launches PC Game “Safe in the Tunnel”

The European consumer testing platform EuroTest has launched an interactive PC game on CD-Rom called “Safe in the Tunnel”. The game offers all prospective tunnel users, the chance to learn how to behave correctly in a tunnel under a wide range of conditions (congestion, breakdowns, fires, accidents etc.) make mistakes, correct them and all from the comfort of home. So when entering a tunnel everyone should be confident of doing the right thing and if needed could rescue themselves.
Produced in seven languages, with several levels of difficulty, this PC game is compatible with all standard computers. An online version of the game can be found on http://www.eurotestmobility.com/safetunnels.php. However the CD contains goodies which are not on the web. Background: The PC game has been prepared and produced as a part of the 2004 Safe Tunnels Campaign which had the participation from of 12 FIA European automobile clubs from 11 countries as well as the support of the FIA Foundation.
Since 1999, the automobile clubs have been campaigning for improved safety in Europe’s major road tunnels and created the consumer testing platform EuroTest. Over the last seven years, they have conducted some 200 tunnel inspections, published test results, produced information and training materials in different media for tunnel users and issued recommendations addressed to tunnel authorities and operators.
