EuroTest under the spotlight of the EU Institutions

At the “Europe for Mobile consumers” conference, in the European Parliament on November 9th 2004, representatives of the European Commission, European Parliament, national authorities present as well as other industry stakeholders clearly indicated their support for “EuroTest” the multi-annual consumer testing programme implemented by a consortium of national motoring and touring organisations in Europe.

Since 2000, EuroTest has targeted the quality and safety of Europe’s mobility-related infrastructure and services. As a result, this on-going study has examined ro-ro passenger ferry boats, railway stations, tunnels, motorway service areas, and the road infrastructure as well as road signs. By testing what is actually offered and publishing the results immediately afterwards, the goal is to raise awareness of the needs of Europe’s mobile consumers in terms of quality and safety.
