FIA Event: Car Emissions and Euro 5

Publication date: 05 April 2005

On 5 April the FIA together with the Bavarian Representation invited politicians and representatives of the car, oil and after-market industry to Brussels to an open discussion on car emissions and EURO 5.

At present the European Commission is preparing a proposal on this next legislative step to be taken. It is the view of the workshop that the exhaust limits for petrol car do not require further improvements.  The focus will be put on further improvement of diesel cars. The workshop discussed possible limit values for particulates (PM) and NOX and the influence of fuel quality to car emissions.
