New Head of Road Safety Unit of DG TREN

At the ‘Initial Rider Training’ event, organised by the Commission (Joel Valmain) with FEMA, FIM and ACEM, the new head of the road safety unit of DG TREN, Isabelle Kardacz chaired the event. She comes from the Urban Mobility unit of TREN and started 15 May. She also mentioned that the Unit is now evaluating all of the research projects done in the previous years and is aiming to come with a new European Road Safety Action Plan end of this year. As she was used to in the Urban Mobility unit, she plans to organise public consultations on this Action Plan. This provides an excellent opportunity to hand in our recommendations from the workshop on Road Safety to be held in the second half of this year.
