Vacancy at the FIA European Bureau: Research Assistant

The European Bureau of the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile), representing the interests of affiliated motoring and touring organisations and over 40 million motorists in Europe, is currently seeking a research assistant


 

Duties and responsibilities
You will assist the FIA European Bureau team in their public affairs work on behalf of their members.  Areas of public policy covered include consumer protection, internal market, transport, environment, road and vehicle safety, automotive industry, justice and home affairs, and tourism.

 

You will assist in the following tasks
• Preparation of meeting papers, minutes, replies to correspondence, and presentations
• Managing relevant data and processing/filing information
• Monitoring of relevant EU legislation and associated timetables
• Researching relevant EU policy issues and reporting findings
• Preparation of draft policy statements, communications, and notes
• Establishment of regular contact with the FIA internal networks and regular contacts with EU institutions and interest groupings
• Raising the visibility of the FIA’s EU activities

 

Profile
• A solid background in European or international public affairs
• Excellent organisational skills
• Proven written and verbal communication skills in English
• A confident communicator across a varied range of publics
• A team-oriented self-starter with initiative and analytical skills
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office tools
• Confident in researching on the internet
• Language skills: perfectly fluent in English and good knowledge of French (written and verbal), additional language(s) an advantage.
• Good understanding of lobbying/advocacy an advantage
• Qualification in either political science, law, economics, journalism, public affairs, public relations would be useful
