Decade of Action in Macedonia
The UN Decade of Action for Road Safety was launched in Skopje, Macedonia on 11 May. It was organised by the Macedonian Automobile Club AMSM and supported by the Republic Council for Traffic and Road Safety (RSBSP) as well as the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The main event was held on the street “Macedonia” where the AMSM exhibition tent was set up with promotional materials for the campaign. Here people were informed about the Decade of Action and given promotional materials such as badges to wear on the day. Just across from the exhibition tent, a presentation about the Decade of Action was held in the famous cafe “Café di Roma”, with the participation of many famous Macedonian singers, politicians, and artists. The main event was supported by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ms. Gordana Jankulovska, and 20 police officers, who were present on the day. A compilation of videos about the Decade of Action were played on a big video screen, as well as crash test videos.
